Certified translation of public and private documents is normally required for official administration. Certification of translation requires examination of and a clause in translation to confirm that the source and the translation are equal in content and meaning.
Under current law, a restricted range of documents (Hungarian diploma localization, translation of international treaties, non-corporate law documents, and documents both certified and notarized by an apostille) may only be authenticated by the National Office of Translation and Translation Certification (OFFI).
Afford Translations Agency endorsed translations are accepted by foreign authorities, and in Hungary, corporate documents are permitted to be certified. Whenever the need for an authenticated translation arises, you should specifically ask whether an Afford Translations and Interpreting endorsed translation is acceptable. In most cases, the answer will be yes!
